Psychiatry and contact: psychosis (English)

Let op: Deze training is inmiddels van start, inschrijven is niet meer mogelijk.

The trainings Psychiatry and contact work from central themes such as depression, anxiety or like now, psychosis.

Objectives and content
In this training we focus on the central theme psychosis. Objective is to provide insight in the experiences of people that experience psychosis. We also investigate with each other how we can help the other – who often feels misunderstood – in contact.

We avoid common social and medical scientific judgments, so we can make space for the true experience of contact with the person with psychotic experiences. We also discuss the limited space for contact experienced by people with psychotic experiences. What does the shrinking contact space mean for the other? And how do you, as volunteer, cope with being different than your buddy?

By discussing special experiences and frequent consequences such as exclusion and rejection on personal basis or by society, you learn how to enhance your contact with someone with psychotic experiences. By conversation exercises we explore how you can cope with feelings such as powerlessness and other emotions that result from the contact with the other.

The training will be guided by Eddy Wolthuis, an experience expert trainer and Herman Pasveer, a trainer with experience.
