Schrijf je in voor ‘Shared Walk in Amsterdam (ENG/NL)’

with Eylem Ertürk

Deze masterclass is tweetalig; zowel Nederlandstalige als Engelstalige mensen kunnen meedoen

This masterclass is bilingual; English and Dutch speaking people can participate.

We learn by being together and by interacting with our environment. Eylem Ertürk and Renate Schepen developed Shared Walks / Ways of Knowing creating an awareness that we all have different perceptions which are influenced by our context. As a volunteer you might use this knowledge to meet and walk with the person you are supporting.

Purpose and content
Walking with others has the potential to open space for reflection and instigate a better understanding of our environment, of others and of ourselves. Shared Walks was initiated in 2018 to open a playful walking space that explores the environment, initiates social interactions in public space and creates possibilities for the appropriation of space and participation. Different walking prompts propose changes in the way we usually walk. Using a card set with different types of walks, participants walk together in pairs, collecting and sharing observations, impressions, thoughts, feelings, memories, stories, associations, etc., mapping their surroundings from different perspectives.
